Saving a buck in the burbs!

I am still on the hunt to find affordable, no cheap, groceries. I am really missing my Food 4 Less. In the city we had a hard time finding good and cheap produce. Out here I seem to have a hard time finding cheap anything, especially whole or organic foods. There is no Whole Foods or Trader Joes within a 30 minute radius. It is thwarting my efforts to save money and eat healthier!

So today I am going to attempt to find a Garden Fresh market that is near Dominick's. I spent over an hour last night go over all the ads and coming up with a menu that would be healthy and take advantage of sales, and if possible coupons. I would love to be able to buy a weeks worth of groceries for $100, I will settle for $150. I need that extra cash to pay for activities!

Seriously. Everything costs out here. There are none, or I haven't found, any open play areas that don't charge. The library has been great and all. But you can only do that so many times, and well I think they would prefer us not to come considering the fees and trouble we have accumulated already! I joined 2 mom groups this week hoping to find some cheaper things to do, my city group provides at least 3 activities a month that are free. the one group has so many activities, one a day! I was so excited, except almost everyone has an additional fee attached to it...sheesh. There is a lot to get used to out here.
