Art is everywhere

I have always been a lover of Art. In fact my first real date with my husband was to visit the Art Institute. I love people who are far more creative then me and can look out into the world and see how to frame the everyday an ordinary into an amazing work of art. I wish I was that talented!

I try very hard to teach my kids that art is everywhere and that it's in the eye of the beholder. While a beautiful skirt is art to Peanut, Monkey can find art in the colors on the back of a beetle.

I saw this following clip months ago after listening to a story about it on NPR. I am sure many of you have seen it but I wanted to share it anyway. It's a perfect example of taking the ordinary things in life around you and seeing the art within it.

Birds on the Wires from Jarbas Agnelli on Vimeo.

It embodies what I want to teach my children, that art is all around them. It' s whatever they see and hear and imagine. It's what makes the world a more beautiful place.

How clever! I will never look at birds on the wire the same way again!

As soon as the video started I could see the music through the birds. I've played the piano since I was 5 and so for whatever reason I see stuff like that and I "see" the music. Thanks so much for sharing that's totally cool. And thanks so much for stopping by my blog today to help make my day in the SITS spotlight a fabulous one.
