Too Much of a good thing?

To fall so deep....

To care so much that you loose sleep....

To not be able to say no.....

Being nice to a fault....

Wearing her heart on her sleeve....

These are probably all things people would list as my weakness. Sure, If I was a high powered attorney or maybe leader of a powerful country these could be weakness, but are they really?

Is it weak to care for those around you whether stranger or friend? What is weak about quickly opening up to those that you feel comfort with or form a kinship with? Does it matter if I have known someone for a day or a decade? Wouldn't you rather know right from the start if I like you or not? Why pretend?

Is it weak to show my feelings? It may make me a bad poker player to not have a good poker face, but I don't understand poker anyways. Wouldn't the world be a better place if we weren't all reading between the lines and could take the time to just enjoy each other? Couldn't the world use more niceness?

I would say that the only thing on that list that is actually a weakness is having a hard time saying no. It's because I am a people pleaser. I won't to help, I like sharing my talents. However there only so many hours in a day and I still have to eat and sleep! The only people who probably think it's a weakness are the one in person in every blue moon who I say no too!

Maybe if we all embraced our weakness instead of hiding them, focusing on them, or trying to change them the world would be a better place. Or at least less neurotic.

I'm one of those people that cares too much too! It can be great but frustrating at times as well.

Stopping by from MamaKats!

I think that your problems are better to have than the alternative! Caring too little, not being kind. : )

It is hard to draw a line when it comes to caring, isn't it?

I agree, having a hard time saying no is a weakness. One that I have myself. I've really been trying to make an effort to work on that. Saying no can be REALLY difficult though!

I see those as strengths, not weaknesses. I do think you have to be careful to set boundaries and force others to respect those, but caring is never a weakness.

Wouldn't it be nice if more people had weaknesses like this?

Great post!

Amen! Who gets to decide what's a weakness and what's a strength!? Good for you for embracing those things that others may perceive as weaknesses and seeing the greatness in them!

I think all those things you listed are wonderful qualities that make you a very kind and dear person.

I'm the same way, and always help where I can.

Maybe that's why we became friends so easily. We are really alike. :-)

I like the way you think. But if I didn't I couldn't tell you, because I'm a people pleaser too.

This is such a great post! Very great point- and so true. I agree with one of the people above, there should be more people like you in the world! You're a great bloggy friend and I know you'd be a great in person friend too!
