Thankful for Girlfriends {Bigger Picture Moments}

I have sisters, but we don’t have the storybook relationship people expect when you say you have sisters.

I haven’t always liked girls

But I have a core group of girlfriends that I am ever so thankful for.

We meet in college. Some of us lived together some of us lived near each other. We were from small towns, capitals and the big city. We were as different as peanut butter and jelly but when combined it was something special.

We have been through all the ups and downs of college. The bad choices in fashion, boys, and libations. The long nights, the early morning, the crammed dorms, the beautiful campus.

We have been through countless boyfriends, four marriages,  12 pregnancies, 9 babies.

They have become family.

We only see each other a few times a year but it’s always like we’ve been together the whole time.

Time can pass, words can be sparse but we are always there for each other.
I am thankful for them.
For their families that make the long journey’s so we can all celebrate together.
For husbands who allow us weekends away and grace when we are together. Giggly and silly and “oh honey can you help that kid” with the look (you know “the look”) that says I am not giving up this conversation so you better get over there.
Thankful for the time we will get to spend together this week.

Good friends, piles of kids, warm food, full hearts.

Thankful

I love how you are not only thankful for the friends, but the families of those friends, the husbands that make your get-togethers possible, etc. What a truly thankful heart. :)

What fun! I don't know how I could have made it through the past two years without the blessing of sweet sister-friends. Friends really are a blessing from the Lord.

Girlfriends are awesome! How neat that you four have done more than kept in touch and are able to get together. That's definitely something to be thankful for!
