Listen to the Whispers {Bigger Picture Moments}

Sometimes dreams are large billboards that you have seen for years just down the road. Calling to you with ideas and promise. Shouting at you it’s flashiness.
Sometimes it’s more of a whisper. A butterfly fluttering near your ear whispering ideas and thoughts. You don’t always hear them. Sometimes it’s just a nagging feeling of something in your heart that you can’t explain but you know you need or want to do.

Two years ago Ann had a dream. A dream to give motherhood a microphone and a voice to the stories that live in us all. I wanted so badly to audition for that show but life at that time was complicated. Last year there we’re two shows Madison and Valpo, I was going to audition. Their audition dates straddled my due date, again I sat back and watched from the sidelines.

This year though, this year there was a show in Chicago (finally!). I took a deep breath and I went for it. The other half of my brain and I auditioned a duet.

Our story, it’s one I think many of you can relate to...

I used to be thrilled that I avoided dating as an adult. Then I had kids and realized dating and meeting men would have been much easier then mom-dating! Making mommy friends, heck acquaintances, is hard. It’s especially hard when you have a toddler. We spend most of our time chasing around the toddlers making sure they are sharing, not hitting or biting, distracting. There is hardly time to have a conversation with a mom you do know. It's damn near impossible to get the courage up to go start talking to an already formed mom clique. It’s more exhausting than the night club scene.
So I did what anyone who is looking for love, er a friend, does these days. I went online.

Want to know what happens next?

We had our first read through this weekend. If you’re in the area, you want to be at this show. The stories of motherhood are different, but they’re need to be told and heard are the same.

Hope to see you there!

This is a spectacular bigger moment, Mel. And I hope you know that I'm not being condescending when I say that I'm so proud of you.

Work it, mama!
