Change {5 for 5}

She’s changing right before our eyes.

We can practically see her brain growing as her mouth learns to form the words and thoughts that are growing and changing as quickly as she is.

She’s stretching in all directions. Her mind expanding, her legs elongated. Knees taking on the bulging knotty-ness that I remember from my own youthful legs.

Long and lanky but seemingly still so much smaller then everyone else. A petite peanut with long legs. A tiny powerhouse, a  girl full of contradictions.

Wanting to be held and easily brought to tears but also wanting to do it all herself.

She is a flower that is just starting to reach for the sky with it’s bud still closed so tight and protected. We are just her keeper, tending to and nurturing waiting with wonder to see what she will bloom into.

Today she is five and love watching her grow into herself and learn to bloom. I can't wait to see where how high her stem will take her. I don't doubt she will bloom into a breathtaking flower the likes no one has ever seen.

Happy Birthday dear daughter, today you are just a little bud reaching for the sky. Keep reaching and stretching, I know you are going to go far and bloom big and bright.
