Dear Lord,
Please grant me acceptance.
To accept the things I will not finish today
The motivation to do more then I thought I could
and the knowledge of when to say NO.
Help me to complete one task at a time.
Enjoy the things little things that fade so fast.
Accept that busy is a choice I make and teach me to make better choices.
Please help me to trust my gut to know where to start and when to stop.
Allow me to surrender to the pinterest unworthy house,
unwashed hair,
peanut butter smeared jeans,
and a butt shaped liked my minivan seat.
Allow me to smile in the carpool lane and revel in the joy of little faces;
happy to be playing,
and learning,
and doing.
Please grant me serenity in this chaos
{and maybe a cleaning lady}
In his name,
Amen.

You have no idea how much I needed this today. :) Thank you.
Working full-time, school full-time, three kids, and one on the way...I've missed assignment deadlines this week because I didn't even know they were due and I've barked at my kids because my brain was overtired. Volunteered to sing at church on Sunday at the same time I'm supposed to be selling Sweet Life tickets (another church function). I'm totally just OVER.
Thank you for the inspiration!
AMEN indeed...I think this needs a photo and some PicMonkey action, and I'll put it on my wall...as a reminder.
Thanks my friend, now all we have to do is heed the words you have written. Oh, and hire a cleaning lady. :-)
I pray a similar prayer every day. I stay home with just one kid (well, soon to be two, but still) and so much of my busy schedule is totally self-induced. I keep trying to remind myself that no one will hunt me down if the counters aren't wiped or the floors aren't vacuumed or if we have to order a pizza tonight because I just didn't feel like cooking. Thanks for this today! Amen is right!
Oh to accept the things that will not get done... that line in particular is lovely :)
Can I get a big Amen?! Every mother in America needs to repeat this prayer daily!
LOVE this! :)
And I definitely could use a cleaning lady!
I.LOVE.THIS. And you. :-)
Love the unexpected humor after all the serious and lovely thoughts -- cleaning lady, ha ha! Every day I struggle with what is left undone. Thanks for putting our hearts into words. Glad I found you through Bigger Picture!
I have so much left undone and not even started. It weighs on me so much. I need to read this every. single. day.
And yes, a cleaning lady would help! =)
Love this! You totally made me laugh out loud.
Magnifique! I work hard to leave a lot of open space in our lives....but lately it seems to have been closed off. Thank you for this prayer. I guess the (?) hair on the bathroom floor and the weeds in the yard will be ok today. Days are long, the years are short, yes?
