Mom Style Informant: Jill from Diaper Diaries #MSFiles

Real Moms, with Real Style.

We're closing out this months mission with an interview with a real stylish Mom Jill! Jill knows how to rock her bangs and was partly my inspiration for taking the plunge, I mean how cute is she?

Name:  Jill

Blog: The Diaper Diaries

Locale: Michigan

Family: Married, Mom to 3 - two girls and a boy

Style: Everyday Chic

How long have you had your current hairstyle, and what made you decide on bangs?
I got them done in the fall of 2010. Blunt bangs were starting to become slightly trendy in Hollywood and I was getting bored with long and straight hair. I was nervous about getting bangs because they are such a pain to grow out but my hairstylist convinced me to go for it. It is seriously one of the best hair decisions I have ever made and I get more compliments on them than any other part of my style.  What I love about it the most is that I feel like it makes even a ponytail still look trendy and stylish.

Have you had bangs before?
Well yes. But that was in the 80s and 90s and they were big. BIG.

What’s the craziest hairstyle you’ve ever had?
I had really short hair in the 90s. Well short in back but big on top (see question 2). It really did look like a mushroom and therefore was christened "The Shroom". It was awful.

Who are your hair influencers {ie: hubs, kiddos, bestie, mom}:
Probably celebrities, but I also really trust my stylist. He knows I will try fun things so we like to take adventures together.

How long does it take to style your hair, and what are your must have style tools and products?
Depends on what I am doing, but typically I got for as little effort as possible. My hair is stick straight, but I still use a straightener to smooth it out and make my bangs lay flat. I also love Redken Hot Sets for the rare occasion I curl my hair because it helps hold the curl and L'oreal Elnet Hairspray.

My favorite hair accessory is?
My favorite style is the sock bun because it takes 2 seconds and gives me the cutest ballerina bun. So I would say a sock. Literally a sock.

If you could change one thing about your hair what would it be?
I would LOVE some amount of curl. Even a bit of wave. I got nothing. Stick straight.

You all know I love a god sock bun too! Isn't she fun? Head over to Redhead Reverie to read the rest of the interview where Jill gives you her best style advice and tells you who her personal style idol is.

You can find Jill at The Diaper Diaries or join her on Facebook. She's all the Rage on Twitter and Pins all sorts of things she will never do.

All I can say is 80's hair? Ugh!

You THINK you want some wave to your hair but honestly, unless you have naturally gorgeous spiral curls it ends up being just a frizzy mess without a lot of work.

Although I think everyone kind of wishes they have hair different than what they do. Or I tell myself that to make myself feel better about my hair envy.
