Mom Style Files: Mission Make-up #MSFiles

In my life before kids I pretty much never went out without at least a little bit of make-up on. Having spent years battling bad acne and then having to deal with some spots/scars left behind make up was just part of my routine.

Fast forward eight years and four kids. I'm lucky if I shower, or even look in a mirror most days. Make up had become something I do when I'm going out. However I have four kids which also means I have dark circle and baggage under my eyes. So I've been experimenting and trying to find both products and a routine that will make me look less mombie (zombie mom) and can be done with minimal skill and even less time.

See growing up the only thing I ever remember my mom putting on was mascara. She was not really a make up wearer unless it was a special occasion. So everything I know about make up, I learned from the sleep overs in the 80's. There wasn't a lot of skill needed in the 80's, just a lot of color, primarily blue.

So tell me, do you wear make-up every day? What are your favorite products? Who taught you how to do your make-up?

MS Make Up
This month's Mom Style Files Challenge is to put on your pretty face! My goal is to get make up on my face before school drop off at least twice a week (preferably the days I have to actually go into school). Join me!

Next week I'll share with you my favorite products and my 2 minutes or less routine.

I like the new BB creams. I use mascara, a little neutral eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara, and either Chapstick or lipstick. Whatever is handy. I used to sell Mary Kay and wore the "full armor". I'm way passed that!

Half BB half foundation to cover up the acne I still get in my 40s. Mascara, lip gloss. If I need more coverage I fill in the middle of my lips with lip liner and cover with gloss. Started using the mousse blushes which look more natural and you can just rub them in. No eyeshadow. If absolutely necessary I use the NYC eye shadow that is kind of like eye shadow in a crayon. Maybelline age rewind under eye coverage for the bags
