Despite the frantic pace there is one thing (other than dinner!) that we make time for every single week, family movie night.
What started out as our easy dinner night has turned into a favorite day of the week. A time to all be in the same room for more than the 10 minutes it takes the kids to inhale dinner. A time where we are all focused, or semi-focused on the same thing. Eating pizza, laughing together and slowing down.
As the age spread of our kids starts to seem farther and farther apart (1 - 9 years) we are finding that we are watching more classic family movies to appeal to everyone.
Two of our recent favorites Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Swiss Family Robinson. My kids also really loved Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!
My girls newest favorite (finally something other than Frozen!) is The Pirate Fairy.
My son would never admit it but because there are pirates he totally watches it with them, very few complaints! On our Fall movie list is to catch some movies we haven't seen, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 and the Muppet Movie.
Do you have a family movie night? What are some of your multigenerational favorites?
